The Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management focuses on developing an understanding of human resource management and behaviour in organisations. You will also learn about the context in which organisations operate and the challenges that Human Resource Management professionals face in balancing competing interests. As a commencing student, you do not need to have a background in the discipline, only an interest in developing your knowledge and skills through this professional qualification of high standing.

Once you complete the Graduate Certificate you may then choose to further develop your professional skills and knowledge by enrolling in a Masters degree in Human Resource Management.

The program will provide you with knowledge in the field and simultaneously build your skills in addressing workplace challenges, and developing and managing people.
This certificate will provide a springboard for appointment to roles such as:

- Union official or Employer Organisation Advisor

Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management (40 units) will be available for applicants who have:
- 3 year Bachelors Degree not in the discipline; or
- 3 year Diploma in the discipline; or
- 3 year Diploma not in the discipline + 1 year relevant business experience; or
- 2 year Diploma in the discipline + 2 years relevant business experience; or
- 2 year Diploma not in the discipline + 3 years relevant business experience; or
- At least 5 years business experience.
Students will be required to successfully complete a Business Academic Skills Program (BASP) which will be of 6 weeks duration. The BASP will be non-fee based and can be completed concurrently with courses in the Graduate Certificate.
Only after the successful completion of the Graduate Certificate and the academic skills program will students be eligible to formally enrol in the Masters Program. They will, however, receive 40 units credit by virtue of the studies they will have already completed. Therefore they will be required to do an additional 80 units to complete their Masters Degree.International applicants must also satisfy the University’s English Language Requirements.
