Fuel your passion for Film
Oxford Royale Academy’s Future Filmmakers Programme is a dynamic and creative course, designed to take students from “concept to screen” over a period of twelve weeks.
An immersive introduction to the practicalities of Filmmaking, this course is a suitable for students keen to take their first steps in the business, as well as those looking to build or expand an existing portfolio.
In general, the course suits students who demonstrate a strong desire to work in the industry through their personal portfolio, film-related education or previous employment. However, no prior Film experience is required.
The Future Filmmakers Programme is a three-month residential course centred around the production of a short film. Yarnton Manor is a ready-made film set teeming with creative inspiration: ORA students have the unique opportunity to live and shoot their film in the historic Jacobean Estate.
This is an intensely practical course designed for the scriptwriters, producers, and directors of tomorrow. The Principal Photography aspect of the course utilises industry standard equipment and allows students to work alongside professional actors and film crews.
Students are guided throughout by experts in the field, covering every aspect of the ‘script-to-screen’ process alongside more practical elements of the film business. As well as creative direction, students are encouraged to consider the full life cycle of a commercial release, from distribution to marketing to contractual negotiations around film sales.
The Future Filmmakers Programme aims to provide students with the first steps to a successful film career: practical, immersive experience alongside professional cast and crew, as well as a high-quality short film suitable for portfolio or as an industry calling card. Whether they go onto higher education or straight into the business, students leave Oxford Royale Academy with a concrete skill-set and proven filmmaking experience.
