This programme is aimed at students who intend to pursue higher education in France at universities or Grandes Ecoles with a focus on business or engineering.
It combines general French language improvement in the mornings with preparatory classes for university-level education in the afternoons. The course familiarises students with the different study approaches required to pursue a university-level course in France as effectively as possible.
Required minimum level in French: B1
26 language lessons per week
- 18 general French classes
- workshop classes on preparation for university-level studies
Introduction to the French higher education system (study organisation, day-to-day student life, methods of assessment, etc.) – familiarisation with approaches to university study – specific vocabulary acquisition – techniques for note-taking – tips on summarising (written and oral) – public speaking and more…
Participants who have fulfilled attendance requirements will receive a certificate at the end of their course, signed by CAVILAM – Alliance française and Blaise Pascal University in Clermont-Ferrand, along with a detailed skills evaluation.

- University media library (computer, video and DVD resources)
- Self-study centre for language work using special software
- Wi-Fi coverage across the campus
