A student who is interested in a degree program, but without the prerequisites, may want to take a foundation year of study. An individual may be seeking credits for eligibility or simply exploring a program. Some sort of accreditation is often available for completing foundation year studies.
What is a foundation year in fashion? A foundation year in fashion is generally meant to prepare students for further study, usually an undergraduate degree in fashion. It can provide students with general knowledge of the industry, helping them to determine which area of the industry they would like to focus on. Programs can include introductory courses in different areas of fashion including design methods, marketing, and artistic communication. A foundation year in fashion can also include an internship or other opportunity for hands-on experience in the industry.
While a foundation year in fashion is most often designed to prepare students for further coursework such as an undergraduate degree, it can also introduce students to creative expression and design principles, helping to hone their artistic abilities.
The cost of a foundation year in fashion can vary. Different programs are available and students may have different needs and interests. Students who want more information should research the programs and choose one that best fits their goals and budget.
Students who complete a foundation year in fashion will usually have fulfilled the requirements to enter an undergraduate program, and they will usually know what area of the industry they want to study. They will have developed basic language and speaking skills and have had several basic courses intended to introduce them to the career and equip them with the knowledge and confidence to move forward.
A foundation year in fashion can prepare students to pursue an undergraduate degree. If you’re interested in learning more, search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
