Foundation Year Program in Arts Study

Arts Study

Getting a degree is a challenging and worthy goal for many students. If you don’t immediately qualify for your program of study, a foundation year is the opportunity to complete necessary requirements before moving on to the degree curriculum.

What is a foundation year in arts study? Every foundation year prepares students for their intended degree program and the arts study foundation year is no different. Scholars gain an understanding of the creative process for a variety of mediums like 3D design, fashion, fine art and animation. As courses progress and students begin to understand the scope of their professional field, scholars have the opportunity to focus more closely on the mediums and processes that interest them the most.

A foundation year gives students two things: the opportunity to close education gaps and a deeper understanding of their field and industry. This extra year of study is typically completed at a student’s university of choice, which provides the added advantage of being familiar with the school’s program before degree instruction begins.

The cost of a foundation year will vary with the institution and type of program. Many scholars successfully cut costs through online-based programs. However, almost all programs will last a full academic year.

After completing a foundation year in arts study, students will typically move on to deign or arts based bachelor’s degree programs. The career trajectory of each scholar is dependent on his or her desires and specializations. Many will find work in graphic design capacities in advertising or marketing firms. Additionally, graduates often move on to aiding in computer software design or app content creation.

If you are interested in an online foundation year program, there are many options available both internationally and domestically. Search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
