The Foundation Degree in Early Years at Kensington and Chelsea College is run in collaboration with Kingston University at Level 4 and Level 5. This course combines academic study with work-based learning. All students attend college for one day between 3 pm and 9.30 pm on a Tuesday. To apply for the course, you must meet the following criteria: You will have an appropriate Level 3 qualification such as the Diploma in Child Care and Education or Early Years, NNEB, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.

You should have a minimum of two years’ prior experience in an appropriate setting and must be employed or undertaking voluntary work in an appropriate setting for at least 16 hours per week for the duration of the course. Coursework and assignments will require you to be working at a level where you are fully involved with curriculum planning, supporting Special Educational Needs, working with parents and all aspects of Early Years Care and Education.

We will consider a range of alternative qualifications or experience that is equivalent to the typical offer. Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) is offered for those who are unsure of the current value of their qualifications.
