There are many educational opportunities available for someone interested in majoring in English and job opportunities include everything from being an editor or a freelance writer to a university professor specializing in creative writing.

Independence Community College’s Associate of Arts Degree offers the student a solid base of instruction in general education courses while offering the student specialties within the area of English. Electives include literature options, creative writing, and journalism, to name a few.

Independence Community College’s English program offers students more instructor contact, individualized attention, and higher rates of success while preparing them with a solid foundation to build on their English skills as they pursue their Bachelor’s Degree at a four-year college or university.
