ESL Beginning

M - F 9:00 a.m. - 12:36 p.m

The objective of the ESL Beginning Reading, Vocabulary, Grammar (RVG) course is to develop fundamental reading, writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills. This course will introduce students to reading comprehension exercises and develop basic writing skills. This course is also intended to increase student vocabulary and develop recognition of grammar structures. This course will introduce and develop student abilities to demonstrate beginning ESL skills necessary for progression through the ESL program at ACE.

The objective of the ESL Beginning Listening, Speaking, Conversation (LSC) course is to develop and employ fundamental listening, speaking, pronunciation skills for enhancing and demonstrating communicative abilities in English. This course is designed for students to interact with various topics, using expressions, vocabulary, pronunciation techniques, and proper grammar in speaking as well as developing the ability to listen for information.

ESL Intermediate I

M - F 9:00 a.m. - 12:36 p.m.

The objective of the ESL Intermediate I Reading, Vocabulary, Grammar (RVG) course is to utilize and employ reading comprehension activities, build vocabulary foundations, and practice developing proper use of grammar. This course will build a foundation for student abilities to demonstrate and confidently comprehend reading passages, write a variety of

sentences applying proper grammar, expand student vocabulary, and develop reading, vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills.

The objective of the ESL Intermediate I (LSC) course is to utilize listening exercises, speaking activities, pronunciation techniques, and grammar functions to enhance, develop, and demonstrate student abilities to communicate effectively in English by participating and engaging is listening recognition exercises and activities, instruction and demonstration of using expressions and grammar in conversations, and pronunciation skills for more fluent, accurate use of the language skills set forth in the curriculum objectives.

ESL Intermediate II

M - F 9:00 a.m. - 12:36 p.m.

The objective of the ESL Intermediate II Reading, Vocabulary, Grammar (RVG) course is to develop and build learners’ abilities of reading comprehension skills, enhance and develop abilities and confidence in writing complete sentences, using proper grammar, and ability to comprehend intermediate reading passages. Students will develop the confidence to apply reading, vocabulary, and grammar skills into their everyday lives and communicative abilities.

The objective of the ESL Intermediate I (LSC) course is to utilize and employ activities and exercises to develop and enhance daily speaking and conversational practice while improving fluency utilizing listening and speaking strategies that employ use of expressions, grammar, pronunciation, and expression of opinions and ideas with the goal of developing student confidence and abilities to communicate effectively in English using the functions covered in the course lessons.

ESL Advanced I

M - F 9:00 a.m. - 12:36 p.m

ESL Advanced II

M - F 9:00 a.m. - 12:36 p.m.

The objective of the ESL Advanced II Reading, Vocabulary, Grammar (RVG) course is to utilize and employ student knowledge, skills, and development of reading abilities, writing skills, and use of grammar functions at an upper advanced level with emphasis on perfecting writing skills, use of grammar, vocabulary, and writing styles to demonstrate advanced abilities.

The objective of the ESL Advanced II Listening, Speaking, Conversation (LSC) course is to utilize and employ student abilities to listen for detailed information, speak and elaborate on topics with a perfected ability using speech patterns, expressions, grammar, and opinionated expressions. The advanced course will allow students to build confidence and focus on perfecting and further developing communicative skills to be used outside of the classroom.
