Diversity management can be seen as an internal process aiming at creating a positive work environment by taking individual differences into consideration. Diversity is about acceptance and respect. On the other hand, diversity is also a cause of misunderstanding, suspicion and conflict in the workplace that can result in absenteeism, poor quality, low morale and loss of competitiveness.

Course objectives

Diversity is seen as something that is good for business and for the work environment. According to the diversity paradigm, a diverse workforce should be considered a competitive advantage. In a constantly changing world organizations need to adapt to rapidly changing markets. A workforce mirroring the structure of the market is able to react swiftly to evolving environments.

Higher innovation level, improved change acceptance, better customer understanding, unlocking new avenues for talent are just a few positive outcomes in organizations with focus on diversity and inclusion management.

Diversity and inclusion management can also provide tools for helping organizations deal with the changing structure of society due to immigration.
