Develop a folio and promote your personal brand in the digital workplace
As part of the Diploma of Screen and Media course, you will write webisodes and micro-blogs, keep active blogs, develop resources, scrapbooks and working tools, to help you define your working methods and brand. You will develop small business resilience and a creative versatility that will be an excellent resource for future freelance or entrepreneurial work.
In this practice led course you will be engaged in cycles of rapid development, production and publication of short media works. There is a strong emphasis on designing animation and digital effects, creating digital effects and shooting material for screen productions.
Industry connections and resources
Your teachers are experienced across the industry and guest lecturers will inspire you throughout the year. You will be invited to work on shows and events organised by students from other parts of campus who are studying for a related industry.
In 2015 the Diploma of Screen and Media students participated in the Melbourne Fringe Festival as a major part of their project work. Term four is devoted to project-based work and industry networking.
You will develop a folio along with skills and experience to launch you into existing small to medium enterprises such as:
- film production houses
- digital, social media and advertising agencies
- software development companies
Will be mostly in-class and consist of:
- direct observation
- questioning and answering
- assignments and set tasks
- log books
- class attendance and participation
- teamwork and group tasks
- development of a portfolio of work
Assessment is conducted in line with performance criteria, assessment requirements and employability skills associated with the film industry as prescribed in the CUFO7 Screen and Media National Training Package.
