Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base in marketing management and demonstrate a range of managerial skills to ensure that marketing functions are effectively conducted in an organisation or business area.

Entry Requirements

Academic: Year 12 or equivalent. English proficiency

Full time: 2 Terms (26 weeks)including term breaks

Pathways into the qualification:

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • BSB41307 Certificate IV inMarketing or other relevant qualification
  • OR with vocational marketing experience but new to the role of marketing team leader,supervisor or manager and without formal marketing qualifications
  • OR with vocational marketing experience in marketing team leader, supervision or management, seeking to consolidate skills and knowledge in managing the marketing function in an organisation but without formal marketing qualifications.

After successful completion of:

The BSB51207 Diploma of Marketing students may progress to BSB60507 Advanced Diploma of Marketing or other Advanced Diploma qualifications.

Learners may complete individual units of competency and receive a statement of attainments for that unit.

Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors.

Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:

  • Marketing Manager
  • Marketing Team Leader
  • Product Manager
  • Public Relations Manager


All units of competence will be assessed using a selection of tools. Portfolios, essays,reports, role-plays, practical observations, case studies,questioning, simulation activities and written tests may be used to gather evidence for the unit of competency. Recognition of PriorLearning (RPL) is recognized TCWA as a process where a student may be granted credit or partial credit towards a qualification in recognition of skills and knowledge which a student has gained through work experience, life experience and/or formal training.
