Overview

This qualification will teach you the skills required to be responsible for designing and implementing curriculums that foster children’s learning and development. In doing so you will work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standards.

On completion, you may also be responsible for supervision of volunteers or other staff. During the course, you’ll learn about providing care for children. The course covers a range of units including developing cultural competencies; ensuring the health and safety of children; use appropriate learning framework to guide practice; analyzing information to inform learning and more.

This qualification reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.

The Diploma program includes 1,440 hours of face-to-face study of which 240 hours are practical.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You should satisfy both academic and English requirements.

Academic: Certificate III in Early Childhood Education

English Language Proficiency: Students are required to have an English proficiency level of at least 5.5 IELTS score or equivalent.

TIMETABLE

Subject to demand, you can choose morning, afternoon, or evening class during weekdays or weekend.

DURATION

The Diploma program includes 1,440 hours of face-to-face study of which 240 hours are practical. (20 hours/week, 9 weeks/term over 6 terms or 18 months).

DELIVERY METHODS

This is a full-time course which includes a combination of classroom and online learning activities. The delivery includes lecturing, practical sessions, self-directed learning, and simulated work-based tasks.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

You can reduce your study time through RPL, a process to recognize the learning outcomes you have achieved through formal, informal and/or informal learning (Work experience).
