Overview

Music isn't just about sound. It's about passion and commitment to an art form that can evoke deep memories and feelings and transport people to different locations and times. If you're ready to work in the most modern recording facility in any school in Canada, the Music Industry Arts program will fine-tune your skills into a rewarding career.

You'll begin with the basics in sound and business, and you'll evolve over the next two years into someone who will be able to work in many different areas of the industry.

It's what Music Industry Arts grad Craig Mann did, winning an Academy Award for Best Sound Mixing in 2015.

This is a program that goes wide as well as deep. You'll learn from guest lectures, in master classes and artists-in-residence, where you'll meet alumni who will pass on their extensive knowledge of the latest technology and business realities. You'll find rewarding work in artist development, film and TV, studio recording, live concerts, music publishing and management, and gaming, or with recording artists, songwriters, agents, and promoters.

If you want to capture, shape and market in a wide range of very competitive areas, this program should be music to your ears.
