The one-year Certificate program combines theory and practical education to cover subjects such as Conflict Management, Beverage Preparation, Front Office Operations, In-House Functions, and Event Planning, and Environmental Sustainability.
Upon completion, students can continue their studies with our Diploma in Hospitality Management for an additional year to build on these skills to give graduates all the tools required to master all the facets of Hospitality Management.
Course Structure
Year One | Certificate in Hospitality (Level 4)
During the one-year Certificate in Hospitality program students study the following subjects as core units which provide the fundamental business and academic skills required in any Hospitality related position:
- Cultural Awareness and Workplace Communication
- International Computer Driving License (ICDL)
- Business Fundamentals
- Service Skills Fundamentals
- Marketing
- Financial Accounting and Control
- Sustainability
Hospitality students will also study specialized units providing them with more in-depth knowledge and a deeper understanding of the key hospitality departments and roles.
The units are:
- Introduction to Hospitality
- Preparing for a career in Hospitality
- Beverage Preparation
- Introduction to the Tourism Industry (short)
- Front Operations and OPERA
- Housekeeping
Year Two | Diploma in Hospitality Management (Level 5)
Upon successful completion of the certificate program, students can choose to progress to the Diploma in Hospitality Management program, which requires an additional year of study. The Diploma focuses on teaching students more supervisory, teamwork, and leadership skills. You will also have the opportunity to tailor your studies to suit your career aspirations through a selection of optional modules and complete a longer industry internship placement of at least 4 months.

Please note the Diploma program is only available to those students who have successfully completed the one-year certificate program.
