Program Description

Overview

Diploma in Communication Studies is designed for those who would like to understand and appreciate the various media channels and forms of communication. The program also provides students with the necessary skill sets that they would need in the field of communication such as Journalism, Creative Thinking, Public Speaking and more.

Program Entry Requirements

You must meet the following requirements in order to be considered for entry to the UNITAR Diploma Program:

  • Pass SPM with at least three (3) credits in any subjects including English; or
  • Pass STPM with a minimum of Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in any subject and credit in English in SPM or its equivalent; or
  • Pass STAM with a minimum Grade Maqbul and credit in English in SPM or its equivalent; or
  • Pass SKM Level 3 AND pass in SPM with credit in English; or
  • KKM Level 3 or its equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.0 AND credit in English in SPM or its equivalent; or
  • Pass Certificate in Media and Communication (Level 3) or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.00; or
  • Pass UEC or its equivalent, with a minimum of Grade B in three (3) subjects; including English; or
  • Any other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Government.

Applicants into the Diploma’s programs (level 5, MQF) through APEL, must be a Malaysian citizen aged more than 20 years of age in the year of application with relevant work experience/ prior experiential learning and passed APEL assessment.
