With this programme you’ll take your first steps towards becoming one, learning how to use graphic design to produce websites, software, and user interfaces.

The Diploma in Digital Design – Web and Graphic Design gives you a taste of all the major components of graphic design and web development. Plus, you’ll cut your teeth on some insanely cool projects that will not only build your skills but also begin your portfolio.

Successfully complete this course and you’ll receive the NZ Diploma in Digital Media and Design (Level 5). This studio-based programme gives you in-depth knowledge of how a real production environment works and how to create full CG film. Working closely with industry, you’ll master advanced skills on industry-standard software and have the guidance and resources you need to create short film and demo reel – the single most valuable tool to finding a job you love.

Immerse yourself in film productions, specialize and build your understanding of production pipeline techniques, and ignite fresh thinking. This course will give you the skills you need to become an employable artist in a visionary field.

Entry requirements

Our Diploma of Animation (Advanced) (Level 6) is the ideal pathway into this exciting programme. Or if you’ve got industry experience or an exceptional 3D demo reel you can apply for recognition of prior learning. Call us to find out more.

*If English isn’t your first language, you’ll need an IELTS 6.0 Academic (no subtests lower than 5.5) or equivalent.

Course components

You’ll study four 10-week modules, and complete an in-depth assessment of each.

  • Module 1: Design Foundation – gain core skills that are a must for any designer. Learn about current industry processes so you can fit right into the workplace.
  • Module 2: Web Design – find out how to make a functional, responsive website that displays on both tablet and smartphone using Wordpress, and basic HTML and CSS.
  • Module 3: Graphic Design – get the skills to create a wide range of professionally-crafted documents for digital display.
  • Module 4: User Interface – study the way humans and technology interact. Learn to build a user interface that is functional and intuitive.

Assessment: Each module will be assessed by a project, completed using industry-standard processes.
