Advanced Diploma in Management Studies

(Option: Management of Microfinance Institutions, Entrepreneurship and SME Management, Financial Management and Marketing Management)

The Bukavu Catholic University informs the public in Bukavu and its surroundings that enrollments in the Master's Degree Program in Management Sciences, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management, have begun and will continue until January 30, 2018.

The DEA in Management Sciences offers the following courses:

  • Management of Microfinance Institutions;
  • Financial management ;
  • Entrepreneurship & Small and Medium Enterprises,
  • Marketing

The two DEA programs (in management sciences and economics) aim to prepare holders of a postgraduate degree in economics and / or management to scientific research in management or economics.

Since the completion of a Master's Degree is a pre-doctoral thesis in economics and management, this program of the Faculty of Economics and Management aims to introduce the student to a scientific approach rigorous training by training them in research tools and by familiarizing them with recent scientific developments in the field in which the candidates for the program have chosen to specialize.

Students enrolled in this program will be encouraged to choose research subjects whose objective is to advance knowledge on economics and / or management issues specific to the African socio-economic environment. Since learning to research requires both a personal and supervised approach, the programs will insist on "reading workshops" and will be of paramount importance to the production of a research paper under the direction of a tutor in the field. to develop the practice of personal research of learners.

These scientific methods are also aimed at encouraging the scientific animation of the workplace and the practice of scientific communication, both oral and written, through regular presentation to professors, researchers, PhD students and students of the DEA, scientific syntheses and the state of progress of the personal reflections and research of the students of the DEA

TERMS OF ACCESS

Holders of the Bachelor's Degree in Management Science, a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, a Bachelor's Degree in Management Computer Science, a Bachelor's Degree in Development Management, and similar fields (the jury ad hoc constituency will examine each application).

The candidate must also have received the distinction "Distinction" at least during a year of graduate studies and a grade equal to or greater than 14/20 for the dissertation. For candidates who do not meet these criteria but who are already working full-time in a higher education institution, the admissions committee could always examine their cases; but a recommendation from at least two professors who know them must be produced.

Holders of a university degree obtained after at least 4 years of higher education in a field other than economics or management and who may have experience in the field of economics or management must introduce a reasoned file that will be assessed by the admissions committee. In the case of the acceptance of the file, certain additional prerequisites may be imposed on them.

When these prerequisites - selected mainly in the field of 1st and 2nd cycle of Economics and Management from the Catholic University of Bukavu - reach 30 credits or more, the candidate will be proposed to first validate a special license in Economics and / or Management Studies (under the conditions of UCB students). This license will then constitute the condition giving access to the DEA

In deciding admission, the jury shall take into consideration the AED work project, the curriculum vitae, in particular the studies completed previously and the mark obtained for the thesis, the candidate's publications and possibly the professional experience acquired. The admission period corresponds to that of the Catholic University of Bukavu.

DURATION AND LANGUAGE OF TRAINING

The program lasts 18 months (ie two academic years) of studies. The test can not be divided for more than 21 months. Lessons can be given in French or English, or combined. The teacher chooses the language in which he expresses himself best. For example, candidates who are admitted to the DEA will be trained in English for 2 months before they can start the rest of their training (the Catholic University of Bukavu organizes this training under conditions that are not competitive: with the possibility of passing the TOEFFL) .

The application must contain the following elements:

  1. Letter of registration form addressed to the Vice-Rector Academic Affairs;
  2. Certified copies of diplomas and transcripts certified to the original;
  3. Detailed updated CV;
  4. A passport photo;
  5. Birth certificate (recent less than three months);
  6. Certificate of Fitness (recent three months);
  7. Certificate of good conduct, life, morals and civism (recent less than three months);
  8. Recommendation of two professors;
  9. Employer's recommendation for worker applications;
  10. To have passed at least 65% in the second year of the license and an average of 60% on the whole university course.
