Retail environments are becoming curated, emporiums and theatrical stages for sending out messages to the audience and engaging customers in the entertainment of brands and products. Showcasing fashion products in new and innovative ways enhances a brand’s identity, story and reach. The appropriate communication and promotion of clothing and accessories in both physical and digital environments is key to a brand’s message and can successfully define and propel the DNA of a brand forward.
Creative visual display has become far more than simply developing the visual concept of a window display or a brand's retail and on-line store. Visual merchandisers, art directors and stylists oversee and art direct photo shoots and create imagery to be shared with the potential consumers. Responsible for the overall visual strategy, visual merchandisers are heavily involved in the brands creative process and contribute towards defining the style language of the brand, their target market and message, influencing all departments within the product creation and distribution chain.
Throughout the course emphasis is placed on exploratory and versatile approaches to this subject through practical work carried out both as a group and independently. You will build your knowledge by being encouraged to unlock the potential of your existing Visual Merchandising skills. You will discover the creativity of your own discipline by developing new practical, analytical and interpretative skills.
