In order to understand the behavioral differences among international tourists and hosts,one must learn about the concept of human behavior in tourism and the factors that influence this behavior.

The first half of the course is devoted mostly to the theoretical aspects covering diverse definitions and theoretical approaches to the study of human behavior. The concept of human behavior is multidisciplinary. It has borrowed many ideas developed in other scientific disciplines, such as psychology, sociology, social psychology, anthropology, economics, marketing, and management. One of the topics here is cultural factors as the most significant determinants of international tourist behavior,  and, therefore, this topic has been also included into the course syllabus. The second half of the course is the analysis of culture in a multidisciplinary tourism context and the application of the concept of culture to the abstract psychological concepts of perception, attitude, or satisfaction, all of which have different meanings in different cultures, creating problems.
