Course Studies in Pilot Training in Ülenurme in Estonia. The standard period of study is four years. The training course of aeroplane piloting is based on the programme developed pursuant to the Joint Aviation Requirements – Flight Crew Licensing (JAR-FCL 1). During the first two years the main focus is on basic aviation studies and the last two years are devoted to acquiring the theoretical knowledge of piloting followed by flying training. In flying training the aircraft used are the one-engine Cessna-172 and the multi-engine Piper Navajo. Part of the flying training takes place on the computer based simulator - FNPT II/MCC (flight and navigation procedures and multi-crew cooperation trainer). At the initial stage of flying practice the students learn the basic phases of a flight (take-off, level flight, turns, landing, etc), acquire the skills in en-route flying in visual flight conditions and get acquainted with the principles of instrument flight. The theoretical and ground preparation continues simultaneously with flying training. In the next phases of flying training the main focus is on daytime and night instrument and en-route flights, and on instrument flights in complicated weather conditions. The students learn to navigate and land in the conditions of limited visibility. Training flights are made to various aerodromes, including the other countries such as Finland, Sweden, etc. Simulator training is used to learn multi-crew cooperation the competence of which will in the future offer an advantage in finding a job in present day commercial aviation.
