Journalism is a field that focuses on bringing information regarding local, national, and international events to the attention of the general public. Journalists help inform people through interviews, observation, or by reading and summarizing past articles and relevant documents.

The United States of America is a large country in North America, often referred to as the "USA", the "US", the "United States", "America", or simply "the States". American colleges are funded by "tuition" charged to the student, which is often quite expensive, very commonly reaching into the tens of thousands of dollars per year.

From a certain point of view, the film editor may be the most misunderstood of all film professionals. Often thought of as just a technician, a good film editor is actually more of an artist. It is the job of the editor to sort through many hours of footage provided by the director, and somehow piece together the shots that will best tell the story the director is trying to tell. A good film editor doesn't just find the best shots: he/she knows how to create artistic sequences that keep the audience guessing and wanting more. Needless to say, film editing can make or break a film, which is why good film editors are highly respected in the industry, and even more in high demand.

In the Film Connection film editing program, you'll learn both the technical aspect and the storytelling aspect of film editing. As an apprentice (extern), you'll be mentored by a professional editor in a real post-production facility as you learn to use Final Cut Pro and other professional editing software programs, and with our structured course curriculum, you'll also learn how to use those technical skills to tell a good story.... Also called the Director of Photography (or DP, for short), the cinematographer is the person who brings the “magic” behind the camera, blending his/her technical knowledge of lighting techniques with the artistic sensibility to compose the best shots for the film. Working side-by-side with the director from concept to completion, the DP serves as the director's right hand as a partner, confidant and ally through the entire process of the shoot. The director relies on a good cinematographer to help come up with outstanding shots and direct the camera/lighting crew to make every image the best it can be. Needless to say, this job is full of creative possibilities. It is also a position that can make or break a film.... [-]

Business issues require a balancing act on paradoxical teeter-totters. We need stability to get things done, but global needs are constantly changing. We need to know what we're doing because the wolves of competition are always at the door, but things have never been so complex and uncertain. In the past, organizations have looked to bureaucratic practices for getting things done. Bosses create rules and make decisions. But in international situations we need more organic, flexible ways of organizing under conditions of change, uncertainty, and diversity. We need to be much better at working things out among ourselves, rather than relying on rules or authorities. The purpose of this seminar course is to help participants learn how to become great negotiators- who achieve results and build strong working relationships for the future.... [-]
