The Jewelry department focus on either the production techniques or design skills that are necessary to succeed as a designer/goldsmith.

Through our programs and customized instructions - according to each participant’s level and goal - we encourage students to explore and develop their own expressive style, elaborating self-directed projects and research. Projects encompass conventional formats, such as brooches, rings and earrings, as well as experimental designs, both wearable and non-wearable. Students will also be introduced to business practice, necessary to start up their new professional career.

In the Jewelry Making course, students will discover and learn how to translate their inner creativity and conceptual style into three-dimensional forms to create unique objects. They will master a variety of techniques, including: sawing, filing, soldering, casting, forging and stone setting. Moreover, we offer you the unique chance to learn the traditional art of “Incisione” (Florentine-style engraving).
