As a result, learning-effects and reduced investment costs enable a market-driven worldwide roll-out of new technologies. In 2014, 144 countries already set renewable targets. As a consequence, the number of global renewable generation installations in 2014, outnumbered the combined number of new fossil and nuclear capacities.
