It offers an educational overview of the ten most common areas of safety concern. The OSHA 10-Hour Training is not considered as an exhaustive treatment of all safety and health issues related to the construction industry. Additional training can be provided for specific work related matters. The following topics will be covered; Introduction to OSHA Fall Protection Electrical Safety Fire Protection Personal Protective Equipment Cranes and Rigging Health hazards MSDS Scaffolds Stairways and Ladders Excavations Assessment & Evaluation Course will be facilitated by Derreck K. Steamfitter/Pipefitters install and repair both high-pressure and low-pressure pipe systems used in manufacturing, the oil and gas industry, in the generation of electricity, and in the heating and cooling of buildings. [+]

Steamfitter/Pipefitters install and repair both high-pressure and low-pressure pipe systems used in manufacturing, the oil and gas industry, in the generation of electricity, and in the heating and cooling of buildings. The Steamfitter/Pipefitter program provides the skills and knowledge to lay, cut, assemble, install, maintain pipe systems and supports. Graduates will also be prepared to work with related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and industrial production and processing systems. This program is recognized by the Apprenticeship and Certification Board as an Interprovincial Trade (Red Seal Endorsed) which allows the holder to work in other provinces /territories without having to re-certify. Academic Admission Requirements: High school diploma or high school equivalency (Transcript and/or diploma to be forwarded to the College); or Mature students who do not meet the education prerequisites may be considered for admission on an individual basis provided the following conditions are met: Applicants are at least 19 years of age at the time of application; Applicants have been out of school for at least one year; Applicants complete the standardized assessment instrument and obtain the result of high school equivalence on all subtests; Applicants present a certified copy of grades for the highest educational level attained.
