Students of photography and photographers who are interested in starting a photographic project that can be structured around the night, darkness, shadows and other lights.
Historical tour of what has been the presence and the technical and aesthetic evolution of night photography.
Theoretical and reflection classes of the role of night photography and its authors are combined, from the 19th century to the present, with sessions of planning and monitoring of the projects and the works of the students around the night, the darkness, the shadows and other lights.
In every photographic process, light and darkness establish a relationship of forces in unstable equilibrium, which in their duality, complement each other and become a photographic image.
The shadow is generated by light and by its absence. Absence that initiates us in the discovery of the light that in every photographic process, builds and destroys. What it reveals, sail.
This workshop wants to have an impact on:
The creation of images in the dark as a starting point with minimal lighting resources.
Explore the different contexts that night and shadow offer us in the field of urban landscape photography, natural landscape, reportage and portrait.
Reflect on the night as a space of perception / creation and the times that affect the realization of nocturnal photographic images, which allow us to have a conception of photography and everything photographic different from what we understand as instant photography.
