When it comes to cinema and television, the role that most often comes to mind is that of an actor. Acting in the world of audio-visual production, however, is different from acting in the theatre. We must not only deal with an audience but with a whole series of departments that literally go around the actor. A good actor must know how to move, fight, sing, dance, and show that he knows how to put himself in the shoes of any character. The more skills one has, the greater the chances of being chosen for a certain role. Needless to say, knowing how to sell, or present is a fundamental skill for overcoming selection when a cast is formed.

Course characteristics

This is a two-year course with compulsory attendance, five days a week, from three to four hours per day, for a total of about 500 hours a year, and consists of three types of lesson: interdisciplinary subjects, institutional subjects, and interdisciplinary labs. The course is compulsory and students are required to work during the two-year period from Monday to Friday in one or two daily shifts and on some weekends for each two-month period, starting from the theoretical study of the concepts to get to the practice on RFA sets and on external sets during educational productions.

Course objectives and contents

The acting course is a path characterized by emotion and sharing, and for this reason, it represents a great personal challenge! The study of diction, the education of the voice, the movement of the body, are combined with work on the emotional and recitative spheres. Learning to interpret a character in front of the camera, on a set with many people and sometimes grueling rhythms, long waits and very short preparation times requires concentration, memory, and technique but also a lot of passion and great commitment. Weekly practice and educational productions are a constant stimulus to do better, always under the supervision of Acting teachers, of course. Interactions with other departments and special modules, such as the direction of actors, fencing, combat, and singing, make the complete and more professionalizing course of many others on the market.

Job opportunities

The course trains students in the following roles: TV, web, and cinema actor, singer, dubber, presenter and speaker in either Italian or English language.

Cost and duration

The course fee is EUR 6,500.00 per year. In the first year there is a registration fee ranging from EUR 200.00 to EUR 500.00 depending on the period in which student enrols. These costs do not vary if the student comes from a country in the European Union or not. The course lasts two years.
