If you left school without the skills, confidence or qualifications you now need, or want to improve your skills towards a future in higher education and employment – we have classes that will help you. Kensington and Chelsea College offers English and maths qualifications that will give you the skills you need for work, education and everyday life.
We offer qualifications to suit individual needs. The courses take place mornings, afternoons or evenings, on two sites, and at different levels. To find out more and to enrol, you need to come to one of our Advice and Guidance sessions, and our staff will assess which is the right level course for you.
All of our courses run for a full academic year (from September to July), and at the end of the course, you will complete your studies with an assessment in order to give you a recognised qualification.
Many of our students are coming back to study for the first time in years. Students will be taught in small friendly classes with a relaxed and informal atmosphere offering a mixture of group and individual work.
This L2 qualification is essential for future employment and higher study in any subject. With options for day or evening, this course is designed for learners who prefer to study in an environment that is very different to previous school experiences and wish to achieve Grade A*-C. The course will improve your confidence and communication skills both verbally and in writing and will help you to become a more skillful reader. It includes a fascinating investigation into modern spoken English in the 21st Century and its impact on us and the way we write. Even though the main focus is on language, the course does give you the opportunity to study some modern short story texts. Please bring evidence of any qualifications you already have to the initial assessment session where you will be asked to complete an assessment test. If you have not sat any exams before for personal reasons, come to be assessed and advised. Days and Times are subject to change.
GCSE English and Maths courses are free for all EU citizens who do not already have a GCSE grade A*-C.
