During this year, the students are taught the fundamental aspects of the aesthetic and technical parameters of frame, sound and new media with more than 1 110 hours of instruction, including eight weeks of internship.
This program is designed to give an extensive hand on technical equipment used in the film industry but also a strong theoretical background on film. The students will have the opportunity to practice during workshop sessions, have more experience through internships and of course to write, direct and shoot their own short movies for a deeper appreciation and knowledge of the filmmaking industry.
This intensive program gives the student a global vision of the different jobs needed to achieve a film, to be able to choose one of them and to be more comfortable and professional for his personal projects.
This year includes an optional French language program. The graduates with a good level of French will be able to enroll directly in the second year of the 3-year program in Brussels or Nice.
This program accepts students from all over the world, they have to be 18+ to be eligible and to have achieved the application process.
- Apartment / Flat
The school doesn’t offer housing but has different partnerships with real estate agencies and will help students find their housing.

ESRA is a French Film School, created in 1972, it is the only private school entitled by the French government to issue and deliver a State degree (French bachelor).
