Develop your mathematical, analytical and financial skills in preparation for Year 2 of a degree in a range of accountancy and finance-related subjects.

The International Year One in Accounting and Finance is equivalent to studying the first year of an undergraduate degree.

Course options available

  • International Year One (3 terms) – this is the standard option, suitable for most students.
  • Extended International Year One (4 terms) – this option features an additional term of English at the beginning for extra language support and English language entry requirements are typically lower.

Where will this programme take me?

Successful completion of the International Year One leads to the initial award of Certificate of Higher Education (FHEQ Level 4) from NCUK.

It offers direct entry to the second year of approximately 70 undergraduate degree degrees at NCUK's universities.

Please note that students looking to progress to a Russell Group university will need to meet additional entry requirements, and there is no progression available to the University of Liverpool or to The University of Manchester from this INTO programme.

You will explore theories and their practical applications using real-world case studies. Group exercises will help you understand business scenarios from different perspectives and supportive tutorials will you ensure you are prepared for Year 2 of your degree.

Throughout your programme teachers will focus on recent cases in the world of finance.

Who should apply for the International Year One programme?

The International Year One is suitable for international students who have completed A-levels or a recognised International Foundation programme, or who are already in the first year of a relevant undergraduate degree in their home country, but do not meet the academic or English language requirements for direct entry to an NCUK university.
