The concept of "Learning by Experience"

Comprehensive knowledge of one’s field is essential, but true business leaders need to be able to apply that knowledge in practice. By teaching them to move from theory to practice, our goal is to provide ECCEDU graduates with an extra advantage and help them stand out from their peers. Successful graduates are awarded 4 ECTS.

We want ECCEDU students to experience work in the field of international business transactions and further enhance their skills by focusing both on their personal and professional development. Topics covered during our program are carefully selected every year to match the ever-changing world of business.

Lectures & Lecturers

All of our lecturers are experts or pioneers in their field. They will engage with students during three weeks of intensive lectures. The scope of the lectures ranges from the essentials of business and commerce to insights into current and future trends. ECCEDU lecturers are experienced representatives from leading companies, both in the Czech Republic and worldwide. In the past, our lectueres have been Staffing Business Partners at Google, President of the Aspen Institute or the founder and leaders of their own companies.

Internships

Our internships are the experience that you need to reach new heights.

The internships are 4- to 5-week-long work experience sessions arranged at a company chosen by each student, with 1-2 students per company. Internships are always under the close supervision and guidance of senior company representatives, who look after students, coach them and help them grow. The scope of work done by our students during their internships typically includes the practical side of office work, such as research, translations, drafting of documents, writing of memoranda, attending meetings, etc.

Work duties are tailored to fit each student’s personal and professional requirements. Students can choose an internship in several international ECCEDU partners located in various European cities. The internship opportunities range from the largest international companies to smaller and more specialized ones. In the past, these included: PwC, T-Mobile, Unicredit Bank, Siemens, Exon Mobile etc.

ECCE partner companies grant reference letters of internships to be more competitive in the future, either for further education application or for job application.

ECCE Grand Reception

Traditionally our Global Career Summer Programs open with a

Welcome gala evening for ECCEDU students, which provides an opportunity to meet the inspiring people who contribute to the ECCEDU community as well as students from other fields of studies (International Business and Architecture & Design). This year, the Grand Reception will take place on 8 July 2019.

The Grand Reception also serves as an annual meeting place for top-level representatives from Czech and foreign companies, as well as politicians, diplomats, and academics.

Entertainment

Our students are offered a wide range of extracurricular activities during their stay.

Our staff arranges various team-building events throughout the lecture period (first month) of the Summer Program. The goal is to engage students in various free-time activities and introduce them to European culture in an entertaining and intelligible way. We also organize escape games, karaoke sessions, laser games and barbecues, and we go sightseeing in Prague and shop for traditional products and souvenirs. Trips around the Czech Republic and abroad are also organised, with destinations such as Český Krumlov, Kutná Hora, Vienna, or Berlin.

Graduation and ECTS Credits

ECCEDU issues recognized Graduation Certificates.

Following the end of the summer lectures, ECCEDU holds an informal certificate awarding ceremony, usually in the form of an evening BBQ event. ECCEDU Graduation Certificates are issued under the auspices of the Charles University in Prague (est. 1348), the oldest University in Central and Eastern Europe, and awards 4 ECTS to each International Business Global Career Summer Program graduate.
