The Airways Aviation EASA Integrated pilot training scheme is known as the Elite Pathways Programme, which has been developed to meet the growing industry need for knowledgeable, highly skilled, and employable graduates.

Our syllabus has been designed in consultation with leading airlines and key industry bodies and is fully aligned with the IATA Training and Qualification Initiative.

This fully integrated programme will take you from no aviation experience (ab initio) to an EASA licensed, industry-ready pilot.

COURSE STRUCTURE

STAGE 1 - ATPL Theory+

UNITED KINGDOM

The first stage of training consists of 36 weeks of ATPL theory. You will undertake a range of modules including general aircraft knowledge, air law, and IFR communications through to airplane performance and operational procedures. You will also participate in our Airline Preparation training delivered by current airline pilots.

STAGE 2 - Single-Pilot Foundation Training + Airline Preparation

SPAIN

In Stage 2 you will travel to our fair-weather flying base in Spain to complete your Single-Pilot Foundation Training and additional Airline Preparation, totaling 114.5 hours of single-engine flight training in our state-of-the-art Diamond DA40.

STAGE 3 - Single-Pilot Advance Training + Airline Preparation + Upset Prevention and Recovery Training

Returning to Oxford, you will complete your Single-Pilot Advanced Training and further Airline Preparation. You will undertake a minimum of 82.5 hours’ flight training, comprising at least 30 hours of multi-engine flight time and 52.5 hours of FNPTII simulator training. In addition, you will complete an Upset Prevention and Recovery Training (UPRT) module to further develop your advanced flying skills.

STAGE 4 - Multi-Pilot Foundation Jet Course

UNITED KINGDOM

The final stage of your airline training comprises the Multi-Pilot Foundation Jet Course (MPFJC) to be undertaken in the UK. You will undertake 48 hours of intensive training over 20 days including advanced theory instruction and A320/Boeing 737 simulator flying time.

Upon completion of all of the above stages, you will have earned your EASA fATPL. Pilots with a fATPL are eligible to work as a First Officer in the commercial airline industry. You will need to accrue 1500 flying hours to achieve a full ATPL at which time you will be eligible to fly as a Captain.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

Students must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • hold a minimum of 3 x GCSEs (or equivalent); successful completion of English, maths, and science is desirable
  • be a minimum height of 5’2 (157 cm), a maximum height of 6’5” (196 cm)
  • Should be eligible to apply for a UK EASA Class 1 medicals
  • Take our In-house English Test
  • Take our in-house Physics and Math Test
  • Take a Compass Test (Hand Eye coordination)
  • in addition, international students should be able to demonstrate English language proficiency with a pass in an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with an overall grade of 5.5 or equivalent.
