Your classroom | the Coral Reefs in Bali and Nusa Penida Island
Being located in the Coral Triangle, Bali is home to a great number of different kind of coral species. This species richness makes Bali an attractive research destination for scientists from all over the world. However, only about 35% of this corals are in a good health condition. Therefore it is necessary to fight against the trend of coral bleaching, to find ways of increasing the overall health status of corals and to restore them. We believe that this special summer course in Bali will help to raise more awareness about this important topic and helps to gain more scientific data, which will eventually help to develop restoration projects even further.
