What is CPL Helicopter Modular Course

CPL - Commercial Pilot License, the license that will allow you to operate as a professional helicopter pilot. The modular training towards a Commercial Pilot License starts with obtaining a PPL (H) and from there you move on with training to issue a CPL (H). You can do it in your own tempo and gives you the possibility to work between.

Theoretical Training

Theoretical training is divided into two parts, both with a duration of six weeks. Each part consists of classroom lectures followed by exams. There are 14 subjects to be completed. Theoretical Training consists of Ground school ATPL Theory 650 hours – duration of 7-9 weeks.

Practical Flight PPL

The first part of your practical flight training is general handling, here you will learn how to fly and handle the helicopter safely. The following step is a combination of emergency training, navigation flights and confined off-airport landings: e.g. golf courses, summer houses etc.

Practical Flight CPL

The training will be more advanced as you proceed, and you will also learn to fly the AS355 simulator (Twin-Turbine Helicopter).

Minimum Requirements

  • 18 years of age
  • Starting PPL (H) medical 2
  • Starting CPL (H) medical 1, PPL(H) and
  • 155 flight hours.
