With the Commercial Pilot License for helicopter, you’ll be able to carry out aerial work, public passenger transport, training flights and rescue operations as a professional pilot. The modular course (step by step) allows you to get the professional license approaching from the private license. Every step can be planned in different periods, in the way to build your own course.
To obtain aeronautical licenses, you must not have criminal records, nor criminal proceedings pending.
To apply for a CPL course, you must show basic knowledge of mathematics and physics and a good awareness of the English language which will be tested through an entry exam before enrolment, PPL License and 150 hours of flight minimum.
Even though the medical examination (1^ class certification) is not required by law in order to start the course, we highly recommend you to perform it. You may contact for free the planning office of the academy to book the medical, which must be taken in an Aeromedical Center. You have to be at least 18 years old to perform the final skill test.
Theoretical lessons last approximately 9 months, starting in October. A distance learning course is also available to whom understand English very well. You will perform the final exam at the Civil Aviation Authority headquarters either in Rome or Milan – Malpensa. You are allowed to take part to the final exam only after passing an internal pre-test at the Academy.
The planning office organizes the appointments with the instructors for booking the flight hours on request. The following stages must be carried out in chronological order: the IFR part cannot be done before the “single pilot” part and the 35 final flight hours must follow the IFR.
Both courses consist of a minimum of 185 flight hours as required in European regulation. You may choose to attend the basic course (CPL) or add the instrumental rating to the program (CPL+IR).
