The Aircraft Dispatcher program is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved training that incorporates classroom and lab instruction preparing Aircraft Dispatcher students to pass the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Written, Oral, and Practical Certification Exams, which are administered by FAA Designated Aircraft Dispatcher Examiners upon graduation. This certification is highly recognized and powerful. Those who possess it have the opportunity to apply for positions not only as Flight Dispatchers, but also as airline Crew Schedulers, Crew Planners, Navigation Data-base Specialists, Meteorology Assistants, Airport Flight Operations Agents, Ramp Control Tower Agents, and many other flight operations positions. Most candidates who hold the FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate will succeed in obtaining almost immediate employment in the airline industry, and some of the benefits are unique to the job description. Airline Dispatchers are NOT Air Traffic Controllers. Air Traffic Controllers work for the FAA, and separate air traffic. Think of Air Traffic Controllers as "traffic cops." Aircraft Dispatchers work in the field of Airline Operational Control, in the airline’s “Nerve Center,” an environment very similar to NASA’s Mission Control. As an FAA Licensed Aircraft Dispatcher, you are authorized by the FAA to exercise equal authority (50/50) and shared decision making with the Pilot-in-Command (Airline Captain) of each flight under your control. Aircraft Dispatchers control the airlines’ Flight Operation (sometimes globally), typically all from one centralized Operations Control Center (OCC) location. Working “behind the scenes”, side by side with other airline professionals like senior Dispatch Managers, Crew Schedulers and Planners, Maintenance Controllers, and Meteorologists, Aircraft... [-]

The Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer (AMTE) program takes the student through the basics of flight and into the latest technological advances for the world of aviation. Career opportunities are opened wide for the graduate of the Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer program. The course of study takes the student through the hands-on techniques and knowledge in such areas as composite fabrication and repair, sheet metal, hydraulics, pneumatics, instrumentation, landing gear, and piston and turbine engines, to include the various aircraft systems. The student learns the intricacies of the entire aircraft as each system is dissected for deeper understanding. The students will gain the skills to properly and efficiently troubleshoot and repair aircraft systems as they relate to fixed-wing aircraft and rotary aircraft. This program blends aircraft electrical systems into more advanced aircraft electronics (avionics) that will enable the student to implement the "keep it simple" approach to troubleshooting. Students will prepare to take the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) test for their Element One and Element Three License, or the GROL (The General Radiotelephone Operators License), as well as the coveted FAA Airframe and Powerplant License. The Aviation Maintenance Technical Engineer graduate will receive the entry-level skills required to maintain and repair aircraft engine systems, airframes, and avionics systems, enabling the graduate to be successful in the ever-expanding field of aviation. This training prepares the student with the proper knowledge and skill levels required to pass the tests administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to... The

Engineering Technology Support Specialist Certificate

prepares individuals for initial employment as engineering support specialists or engineering technicians in various specialized areas. Additionally, it provides supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. This certificate program is the core of the Engineering Process Technology degree program. Credits earned toward this certificate can also be applied to the Associate in Science in Engineering Technology degree. This program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses acquisition of information and skills, as well as demonstration of the following elements of the Engineering Technology Program: production materials and processes, quality, computer-aided drafting, electronics, mechanics, instrumentation, and safety. The program technical skills standards align with those of the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC). The MSSC defines the information, skills, and abilities required of today's frontline manufacturing workers. The curriculum provided within the certificate core courses prepares students for the MSSC Certified Production Technician examination. Instead of teaching the courses through traditional lectures and laboratory sessions at scheduled times, all of the material is formatted into self-study modules, called "units," that contain both theory and hands-on components. Units provide information on significant applied engineering competencies, components, circuits, mechanisms, and equipment that are widely used in manufacturing facilities. Several units make up one course. The Engineering Technology lab and classroom facilities at the Clear Springs Advanced Technology Center in Bartow consist of high-quality laboratory equipment for numerous hands-on activities that develop the skills required to construct, operate, analyze, and program a wide range of...
