Certificate Programs in Sports Coaching

The Sport Coaching Graduate Certificate will prepare students with both the technical and tactical knowledge, leadership skills, and decision-making abilities to effectively train athletes physically and mentally while adhering to best practices in competitive ethics. The curriculum is aligned with the National Standards for Sport Coaches and will provide students with principles relative to best coaching practices that can be applied at any level of the sport. Each student will complete a required coaching practicum to align coursework with current coaching practice. -

The Graduate Certificate in High Performance Sport is designed for students from diverse backgrounds and delivered using flexible learning methods suitable for working professionals, domestic students and international students. The course structure enables full-time or part-time study where students can commence in either Autumn or Spring session to complete four subjects. This nested course structure provides a solid grounding of the knowledge and skills required in any high performance sport career whilst offering the opportunity to advance and tailor knowledge and skills development at an advanced level. The course is developed and delivered in collaboration with industry experts from the field, with each subject comprising of a mix of theory and evidence-based practice. Research-inspired course content is delivered by world-leading academics and industry partners, which allows students to apply an advanced level of knowledge and understanding to a range of areas that meets the diverse needs of the high performance sport industry. Graduates enter the workforce as effective professionals capable of leading, managing and inspiring in the field. In the Graduate Certificate in High Performance Sport, students may undertake a professional internship with an organisation in the sport industry. This allows students to apply their knowledge, develop professionally and network with industry partners. Students are encouraged to develop their ideas and test these in real world environments with practical relevance. Current workplace employment may also be considered for supplemental credit towards this internship. -

Our Online Graduate Certificate in Tactical Performance & Resiliency empowers you to gain highly practical knowledge and skills for effectively training tactical athletes at the individual-level. Studying at your own pace through our online courses, you will expand your skills and knowledge well beyond that offered by professional certifications alone. You will graduate from this program effectively-prepared to design and deliver effective tactical training programs for military service members, firefighters, law enforcement officers, and veterans on a one-on-one basis. -

This highly practical one-year course will equip you to work as a sports coach and respond to the unique demands of top level sport. -

The program is designed to provide the graduate with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to engage in the practice of personal training in a variety of settings. The program's goals and objectives are guided by, but not limited to, the criteria and guidelines set forth by the American Council on Exercise. -

This course is designed for learners to develop knowledge and skills for further study and/or a career in sport and fitness. -

The Coaching Certificate program prepares students to be a head varsity coach in the Minnesota public school system and meets Minnesota State High School League and Minnesota Statute 122A.33 requirements. This program is a great addition to the Associate of Arts degree. -
