On the one hand, the course deals with so-called “market failures” that affect appropriate investments in the sector and shows the policy instruments which are available to correct those shortcomings. On the other hand, the course covers the project financing perspective with a focus on the specifics of Renewable Energy financing including policy and regulation.The course provides applicable content that will help to achieve personal career objectives and make an impact on the bottom line of participants’ institutions. Starting every year in March and October, the University of Freiburg in cooperation with Fraunhofer offers a series of training modules in the field of Solar Energy Engineering with a focus on photovoltaic technology. The certificate program will be offered in the winter and summer term. Upon successful completion of a module, participants will receive a certificate of attendance granted by the University of Freiburg. The continuing education modules are offered in a blended learning format: a combination of self-learning phases, regular online meetings and attendance phases (campus phases) in Freiburg.
