Our program prepares you for the firefighter's job with classroom experience, hands-on skills, and physical training. Our program meets or exceeds all of the requirements established by the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Structure Fire Suppression curriculum and encompasses all aspects of knowledge needed to be successful in fire protection, preparing you to take all state certification exams.

The Fire Science program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare fire service personnel at all levels to become better officers and leaders. The program provides learning opportunities that introduce, develop, and reinforce academic and occupational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.

LMC Fire Technology classes are offered at two locations in the county: Los Medanos College and the LMC Brentwood Center. Los Medanos College offers programs to aid those pursuing or working in fire service careers. The first program consists of six semester-long classes leading to a fire technology certificate or degree.

The Fire Protection and Safety program is designed to provide professional training for students in careers as firefighting professionals in fire protection and safety agencies.
