What is a Certificate in Culinary Arts? This program is designed to prepare and qualify individuals to cook in either a commercial kitchen environment or within a wide variety of culinary occupations. Students can learn the basics of cooking, including everything from how to properly use a knife to what seasonings best complement each other in a dish. Some of the courses offered might cover knife skills, plating, preparing meat, stocks and soups, pastries, vegetarian dishes, modern cooking techniques, food safety and hygiene, canapés, and how to prepare vegetables.
