The IVC Engineering Program prepares the aspiring engineering students to meet the first two years of a four-year university engineering degree program. IVC engineering students will be well prepared to transfer to Engineering programs of the UC , CSU , and most local universities. Students may also choose to earn a Certificate of Proficiency in Engineering. At IVC, you will get a lot of personal attention. Smaller class sizes mean more opportunities to ask questions and interact with instructors. The IVC Engineering department has a faculty that comprised of practicing professionals with P.E. certification and experience in the industry, and educators who are well experienced and dedicated to the students learning and success.
This program is designed to enhance students' interest in mathematics and sciences by pursuing a career in engineering. The program's core curriculum requires students to take mathematics and physics classes that are the foundation for all engineering projects. The certificate is composed of courses in engineering design, engineering statics and dynamics, material science, network analysis, thermodynamics and programming. Complete the following courses:

- ENGR 80 ENGINEERING DYNAMICS
- ENGR 54 PRINCIPLES OF MATERIALS SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
- ENGR 70 INTRODUCTION TO NETWORK ANALYSIS
- ENGR 91 INTRODUCTION TO THERMODYNAMICS
- ENGR 83 COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN TECHNIQUES
