Introduction

The Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB) was launched by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) in September 2008 in United Kingdom (UK) as a new stand-alone business qualification. It provides essential knowledge in the fundamentals of finance, accounting and business, and can be used as an entry route into the ICAEW programme. Following the launch of the CFAB in the UK, Sunway TES CAE formulated an innovative pathway for school leavers. This specially designed pathway is a feeder into the ICAEW and provides school leavers with an accelerated route to the ICAEW ACA qualification. Through this innovative pathway, students can progress to the ICAEW programme and obtain the prestigious ACA qualification right after high school. Its unique approach which allows both classroom studies and practical work experience offers a holistic learning experience and equips you with relevant skills to be an adept. Programme Structure The CFAB for school leavers comprises 6 CFAB subjects and 6 additional subjects. The 6 CFAB subjects are the same 6 papers in certifcate level of the ACA modules. In addition, a 3-month work-based learning is also incorporated into CFAB programme. CFAB Subjects Accounting Assurance Management Information Business, Technology and Finance Principles of Taxation Law Intakes January, March, April and July Examinations The examination for CFAB subjects are computer-based and will be held every 3 months Duration Minimum 18 months Entry Requirements Aged between 16 to 21 years, with a minimum of 5 Distinctions in SPM / O-Level, including Mathematics and English; or equivalent Scholarships The following scholarships are available for eligible students: ICAEW Global Accountant Scholarship Jeffrey Cheah Entrance Scholarship Tun Dato' Seri Omar Ong Community Scholarship SUN-MAPCU Scholarship Scheme Please inquire with our Student Services Department for more information on these scholarships.
