European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL), known as ICDL outside Europe, is the global standard in end-user computer skills, offering candidates an internationally recognized certification that is supported by governments, computer societies, international organizations and commercial corporations globally.

- ECDL raises the level of ICT and computer skills and allows candidates to be more productive at home and at work. ECDL also improves job prospects by providing an internationally recognized qualification.
The National Commission for Further and Higher Education deems the ECDL Standard Certificate to be at Level 3 of the Malta Qualifications Framework and of the European Qualifications for Framework for Lifelong Learning.
Is a certification of an individual’s digital literacy. It consists of four separate modules that cover key ICT skills and knowledge area. These four essential modules are:
- Computer Essentials
- Online Essentials
- Word Processing
Is a certification which can be obtained by studying the following 3 modules added to the 4 modules of the ECDL Base.
- Using Databases
- IT Security
