This course will provide a good background and prepare students for a career in Business & Management. You will complete practical and industry specific assignments and projects throughout the year. This will help you to gain an understanding of the Business & Management by developing skills and knowledge that are valued by employers. This course will prepare you for work in a variety of business departments including human resource management, finance, and marketing and information systems.
You will learn between 6 to 12 modules from the list below based on your academic ability. Progression to the second year of the Diploma will be based on your ability to successfully complete the Subsidiary Diploma.

You must have a minimum of level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR) English qualification e.g. an IELTS score of 5.0 with a minimum sub score of 5.0 in writing to apply for this course and your student visa. You should also have qualifications at Higher Secondary, Diploma level or the equivalent in your country. Your qualifications will be assessed against the NARIC qualification comparison system. You will also be required to take part in an initial assessment to ensure that the course and level of study is suited to your ability, this will enable us to assess the level of additional support which you may require.
Tier 4 students must:
- have an IELTS score of 5.0 with a minimum subscore of 5.0 in writing
- achieve minimum attendance and punctuality targets of 95%
- be 18 years and above
- Live within 8 miles of Walsall College e.g. Walsall, Birmingham, West Bromwich, Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Cannock, Bilston or Dudley.t Walsall College near the City of Birmingham
- Skype Interview – You must complete and pass an initial Skype interview with the International Office. You will then be required to complete and pass a Skype interview with tutors from your chosen subject area. Both interviews will need to be passed before any offer of study is made. As you are studying at a Government funded college you will be entitled to work for 10 hours per week.
After successful completion of this course you can progression to our Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma in Business. You may also choose to progress to university to study a degree.
