What is an Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education? If students consider themselves children at heart and wish to learn through play, an early childhood education program may be an excellent fit. Required courses may cover English composition, principles of public speaking, child development, and achieving academic excellence. Those who wish to become public school teachers may apply their credits to a bachelor’s degree and receive appropriate licensing, and those who desire a role in preschool may have the opportunity to get hands-on training in an internship through the program.
Leadership and communication skills play a huge role in teaching success, and graduates often improve in both areas. Conflict resolution skills may also bolster a graduate’s viability as a job candidate as he or she is able to work with all types of children and behavioral issues.
Just like the children, every school’s programs are different. Students who are interested in gaining more education are advised to reach out to school officials to better understand financial obligations.
Graduates may find jobs as preschool teachers, elementary teachers, teacher’s assistants, guidance counselors, and school administrators. However, not all jobs have to be in education. Some individuals become children’s book writers, using their knowledge of childhood development to create age-appropriate texts designed for reading and social skill building. Others may design toys and other household products as product developers.
How you finish may depend on how you start. To make it easy on yourself, search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
