Introduction
The program is designed for students transferring to a 4-year school to complete their BS or BA degree in Mathematics. It allows students to complete the first 2 years of the BS degree at the community college. Students explore calculus and computer/engineering applications. Mathematics is more than the study of counting and measurement – it is also the study of shapes and motion. Mathematicians look for patterns and use them to design new theories, new models, and even predictions about nature.
This program introduces students to Mathematics, and it includes courses that are common to all four-year institutions in Colorado. Career paths in mathematics include finance, engineering, computer science, coding, accounting, statistics, and research. The Associate of Science (AS) degree in Mathematics prepares students to complete the second half of a Bachelor of Science (BS) or a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mathematics at a four-year university.
