An Associate of Arts (AA) degree is an academic achievement received by focusing on a field of study for two years at a community, technical, or vocational college. Upon earning an AA many students transfer to a university for a higher degree.

Social sciences help students to better understand the interactions and systems within human society. Topics covered may include how communities and populations form governments, make laws, develop economic systems, or how individuals make decisions.

The United States of America is a large country in North America, often referred to as the "USA", the "US", the "United States", "America", or simply "the States". American colleges are funded by "tuition" charged to the student, which is often quite expensive, very commonly reaching into the tens of thousands of dollars per year.
