An Associate of Arts degree is the credential awarded to students who complete a two-year undergraduate course of study. These programs are available to students who have graduated from secondary school, or they can be worked into an accelerated learning course.

What is an Associate of Arts in Fashion? For those with an eye for taste and trends, an associate’s degree in fashion is a common basic requirement for entering the field of fashion design. Beginner classes typically teach fundamental skills such as fitting models, choosing fabrics, and sewing materials. More advanced coursework may include creative development, such as matching styles and colors, discovering design inspiration, and retaining personal and unique fashion characteristics. You may also learn about merchandising and marketing your brand and products in the commercial world.

For those just getting started, an Associate of Arts in Fashion is a must. You receive practical experience and knowledge that will enable you to launch yourself into the fashion world. Courses provide a solid foundation from which to build skills, develop creativity, and advance yourself to prepare for higher learning.

These degrees are usually available at vocational and community colleges, making them less expensive than courses you’d find at four-year universities, but costs still vary. Associate of Arts programs are also shorter than bachelor’s or master’s programs and generally more affordable for students who may not have achieved high-paying jobs.

Whatever designs you may have, the career options in the field of fashion are varied and abundant. Professionals often fall into one of several categories: design, manufacturing, marketing/public relations, and sales. Designers typically create new trends or revamp old ones in new ways. Manufacturers produce tangible merchandise from others’ designs. Promotional specialists present and market fashion products for sale. Retail professionals get the industry goods and services to the public.

The world of fashion is just a click away. To get started on your future, search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
