Associate of Arts in Journalism

General

Program Description

Program Overview

This program provides you with the basic requirements to transfer to a college or university as a junior to complete a bachelor’s degree. You are responsible for completing the admission requirements of the university in order to transfer.

Journalism is a form of writing that tells people about things that really happened, but that they might not have known about already. People who write journalism are called "journalists." They might work at newspapers, magazines, websites or for TV or radio stations.

The Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree is a two-year liberal arts degree designed for the student who intends to transfer into a bachelor's degree program. You do not earn an A.A. in a specific major; however, you do have the opportunity to track toward a specific major at a university by choosing a related advisement track at Santa Fe College. If you don’t see a track geared toward your intended transfer major, you may choose General Studies and speak with your academic advisor.
