An Associate of Applied Science in Tourism and Hospitality allows students to learn more about the practices and principles that govern these industries. It is a career-focused degree, though generalized enough that you can likely choose a specific path that interests you later. Classes you might take include Introduction to Customer Service, Food Service Best Practices, Travel Marketing and Event Planning Principles. Some program may include an internship, in which you can expect to apply the concepts you’ve learned in a customer service-oriented environment.

The breadth of topics covered in coursework for an Associate of Applied Science in Tourism and Hospitality benefits students by equipping them for any one of many careers in the field. Students will also learn general customer service and sales skills, time management and multitasking.
