An associate's degree is a good launching point for both an education and a career. When studying full time, it only takes two years to complete. Any job description that requires some college can be fulfilled by having an associate's degree.

What is an Associate of Applied Science in IT? To start, IT stands for information technology, which relates to the use of computers to store, share and manipulate data. Coursework in this degree provides hands-on experience with both hardware and software so that you can troubleshoot any problems that are brought to your attention. Courses in basic mathematics and computer science are also included. Depending on your chosen institution, you may also learn the basics of software development and webpage administration.

Because computers are in use everywhere, understanding how they work is very useful for every aspect of your life. Some companion skills, such as critical thinking and problem solving, are also useful in less technological settings.

An associate's degree usually takes two years, but can be longer depending on your situation. The time spent and the institution chosen both play a role in determining the cost of your degree. Call or email your school of choice to ask specific questions about tuition and fees.

An associate’s degree in IT is helpful for entry level positions in IT and technical support. It also works as a launching point for a variety of technical jobs, such as data management, web development and software design. As long as technology is used in a particular field, persons holding an IT degree will have high value. Graduates may also use their schooling to pursue a bachelor’s degree to open more employment opportunities.

Break into this growing field with an associate's degree. Search for your program below and contact directly the admission office of the school of your choice by filling in the lead form.
